Money to build the St. Benet's School for Peace was mostly raised in and around Beccles in England. A variety of events took place including slide shows of visits to Congo, selling crafts bought in Congo, tea parties and suppers, sponsored walks, a flower festival and music concerts.

We a very grateful to the generous people who have supported the project.

Here are some pictures of recent fund-raising events. More will be added in the coming months.

Some local supporters bought a seasonal afternoon light meal including scones with fresh strawberries and cream.

A sailing yacht on the River Waveney

Supporters pay for sailing trips on the River Waveney. Light refreshments are served on board!

Arts and crafts sold to help raise money

Arts and crafts bought in Congo are then sold in England to help raise money for the St. Benet's School for Peace.

St. Benet's Flower Festival

The flower festival in July, 2005 attracted a lot of visitors who paid to get in and were invited to buy products on sale inside.

Puffin Ensemble Concert

The Puffin Ensemble gave an open air concert. The audience paid to get in and was invited to bring a picnic meal with them

Bassoonatics Concert

This group of four bassoons call themselves 'The Bassoonatics'. They presented a fun concert and the audience bought tickets to raise funds
