Congo does not have state funded schools. Almost all schools are run by voluntary organisations and have to find their own funds.
The School for Peace in Chamalale, southern Congo opened in the autumn of 1995 and is the only school in the area.
Many of the childen in this village are from refugee families who have fled the war zones in Congo.
Their parents are unable to afford the school fees.
We are looking for sponsors to support such children. You may pay as much or as little as you wish. As a guide,, it costs £65 per child per year to pay for their schooling, uniform and equipment. If you cannot afford the full £65 smaller contributions are also valued and are a very welcome addition to the work we do.
