Congo does not have many state funded schools. Almost all schools are run by voluntary organisations and have to find their own funds.
St Benet's School for Peace in Chamalale, southern Congo opened in the autumn of 2005. Each year we open two new classes. This will continue until the end of the secondary phase.
Many of the childen in this village are from refugee families who have fled the war zones in Congo. Their parents are unable to afford the school fees.
We are looking for sponsors to support such children. You may pay as much or as little as you wish. As a guide,, it costs £95 per child per year to pay for their schooling, uniform and equipment. If you cannot afford the full £95 smaller contributions are also valued and are a very welcome addition to the work we do.
These children need sponsorship for their schooling. If you would like to sponsor a girl or boy, there is an application form below.
