Fund Raising Ideas and Activities

1. Sign up with http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ and make a donation every time you go shopping on-line. Your goods don't cost a penny more and retail organisations like Amazon, Tesco, Argos, next, eBay and over 2700 others will make a donation. It's simple and costs you nothing. When you sign up, please search for "Congo School for Peace".

4. Remember us in your will. We are aware that quite a few people have left money to the school in their will.

5. Organise a fund-raising event.

If you mail Mary or Neil, they will add the event to this website. The addresses are on the Contact Us page.
If you have an idea for raising a little more, please go ahead, and thank you.
If you'd like advice, information or display material please do ask.
There is a group of supporters who meet regularly to keep things on course.

6. Talks

Mary and other team members are keen to give talks to promote the work of the School for Peace.
If you know of any group who might like a talk please let us know.

7. Gift Aid.

The School for Peace is registered with HMRC for gift aid purposes. If you donate money or sponsor a child and you are a UK tax payer, if you complete a 'Gift Aid Declaration' we can claim an additional 25p for every pound donated. This does not affect your tax status in any way but it makes a big difference. We cannot claim gift aid for general fund-raising events unless individuals who attend fill in a gift aid declaration for a stated amount for that event.

We welcome all and any fund-raising. One of the reasons for the success of this project is that a lot of the money has come as a result of "small" amounts. Over the years kind people have given us a pound here, a fiver there and, as every pound raised actually goes directly to the School (nothing is ever deducted for travel or any other expenses) the total is always surprisingly big. Of course larger scale events are also organised and it is the varied ideas and generosity of so many people that keeps the money rolling in.
